Recall of details never experienced: Effects of age, repetition, and semantic cues
نویسندگان
چکیده
To test theoretical predictions about the role of meaning connections in false memory, the effects of semantic cues and list repetition on children’s false memories were evaluated across early childhood to midadolescence using the Deese–Roediger–McDermott (DRM) paradigm. True recall and false recall increased from 7 to 13 years. Study list repetition increased true recall of list words with the magnitude of this effect largest in the older children and adolescents. Repetition reduced false recall of critical lures in all age groups. Consistent with theoretical predictions, false recall of critical lures increased when children were informed of the thematic gist of each list prior to study. © 2007 Elsevier Inc. Effect of Spaced Repetition on Iranian EFL Learners’ Form Recall of English Single Words and Collocations
Acquiring vocabulary has always been recognized as a significant and challenging part of language learning process. In this study, the researcher examined the extent to which form recall of target lexical items by learners of English as a foreign language (EFL) is affected by a) repetition and b) by the type of target item; single words versus collocations. The treatment consisted of non-commun...

متن کاملThe Effect of Discourse Signaling Cues on Foreign Language Listening Comprehension of Iranian EFL Students
A review of previous research on receptive skills among EFL learners reveals that in contrast to extensive research in reading, fewer studies have focused on the process of listening comprehension in EFL contexts. The current study examines the effects of discourse signaling cues on Iranian EFL students' listening comprehension in academic lectures and also investigates the effect of tea...
متن کاملAutobiographical memory in children with Idiopathic Generalised Epilepsy.
Autobiographical memory involves the recall of both personal facts (semantic memory) and the re-experiencing of past personal events (episodic memory). The recall of autobiographical episodic details has been associated with a specific network, which involves the prefrontal and medial temporal lobes, in addition to posterior regions of the brain. Seizure activity has been previously shown to di...
